North American hair transplant surgeons have been performing Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), the targeted removal of follicular unit grafts without the use of a scalpel, as an adjunct to hair transplant procedures since the year 2001. While the procedure has it's critics, there are those who believe that if performed correctly with a consistent protocol, this techniques can benefit hair loss sufferers around the globe.
